Program crashes when the target format is a PST file or MAPI and Outlook 64-bit is installed

After an Outlook update (version 1704, build 8067.2157), we found that Outlook has an issue that is crashing Aid4Mail version 4 when migrating or converting to a PST file or MAPI. You will have most likely received the error message "The RPC server is unavailable".

A discussion about the issue can be found here.

If you have Outlook 64-bit installed and you are using the 64-bit version of Aid4Mail (you will see "O64" in the footer of Aid4Mail), we advise you to revert back to this version of Outlook: Version 1703 (Build 7967.2161)

You can either do this manually (instructions below) or by downloading the latest version of Aid4Mail and following the prompts shown to you before you do a migration or conversion to or from Outlook 2016.

To do this manually, please follow these instructions

  1. Close Outlook
  2. Download the file attached to this article
  3. Open Windows Finder
  4. Double-click on the file to run the CMD batch file
  5. Open Outlook (a restart may be required)

If you have the 32-bit version of Outlook installed, please see this article.
